Course selection
According to
the article 17, 18, 19 of school administration conference resolution in
Nov. 27th, 2007, students who would like to have course
selection should comply with the following requirements.
(1.)
Students enroll with four
study years are required to get more than 128 credit hours before
graduation. The credit hours of each semester are confined with the
following requirements.
A.
The credit hours requirement
stated that all the freshman, sophomore and junior of the N.F.U. cannot
obtain less than 16 credit hours or more than 25 credit hours in the
year of freshman, sophomore and junior.
B.
The credit hours requirement
also stated that seniors of the N.F.U. cannot obtain less than nine
credit hours or more than 25 credit hours in either semester of senior
year.
(2.)
Students who would like to
add or withdraw courses are supposed to finish the relevant official
procedure within the due date.
(3.)
Students cannot take two
courses that will be lectured at the same time since it will cause time
conflict. Once students are found violating the rule, the grade of the
course will not be evaluated. Moreover, students cannot re-take the
course which they have been taken before.
2.
Terms of study, Credit hour
According to
the article 21 of school administration conference resolution in Nov. 27th,
2007, admitted students are required to comply with the following
regulations.
(1.)
College: The terms of study
limitation in the 2- year technical school programs of each department
in the N.F.U. defined that students cannot pursue academic studies less
than 2 years. The terms of study limitation in the 4-year college
program of each department in the N.F.U. defined that students cannot
pursue academic studies less than 4 years. Students are supposed to get
competent credit hours which are defined by the regulations of their
department. Students who are unable to get enough credit hours within
their terms of study can extend their study terms to 2 years at most.
Students of 4-year college program are required to get no less than 128
credit hours in their terms of study; while the students of the 2-year
technical program are required to get no less than 72 hours in their
terms of study. credit
(2.)
Graduate school: The terms
of study limitation for students of Master study program in the N.F.U.
is from 1- 4 years. In- service students of Master study program in the
N.F.U. are able to extend their terms of study to 5 years at most. The
terms of study limitation for Doctoral study program in the N.F.U. is
from 2 - 7 years. In-service students of Doctoral study program are able
to extend their terms of study to 8 years at most. Graduates students in
the N.F.U. are required to obtain competent credit hours which defined
by their departments. Students of Master study program are required to
get 24 credit hours in their terms of study; while the students of
Doctoral study program are required to get 18 credit hours at least in
their terms of study. (The doctoral dissertation can be evaluated
separately.)
3.
Grades:
According to
the article 23, 24 of school administration conference resolution in
Nov. 27th, 2007, admitted students are required to comply
with the following regulations.
(1.)
The grade evaluation of
college students is including school work (practical training and
experiment), behavior, physical education and military training. 100
points represents a full mark and 60 points represents a pass in the
study of students in the N.F.U.
(2.)
The grade evaluation way of
the graduate students in the N.F.U. is according to the following
regulations:
A. 100 points
represents a full mark and 70 points represents a pass of the course.
Students who do not get a passing grade of the course cannot have a
make-up exam but repeat the course in their terms of study.
B. 100 points
represents a full mark and 70 points represents a pass in the Master and
Doctoral study program.
(3.) The grade of
Master and Doctoral program is evaluated 50% at the study performance
and the other 50% will be evaluated based on the test of the academic
degree.
4. Leave of absence,
Suspension, Resumption, Withdraw:
According to the
article 49,50,51,52 of school administration conference resolution in
Nov. 27th, 2007, admitted students who would like to transact
a leave of absence, suspension, resumption and withdraw in the N.F.U.
are required to comply with the following regulations.
(1.)
Students who would like to
ask for leave are supposed to follow the leave of absence regulation.
Students intend to ask for leave in the mid-term or final exam week
should ask the permit of the educational administration in the N.F.U. in
advance.
(2.)
Students who take days off
without asking for leave or the leave haven’t been permitted by school
will result in absence of the course.
(3.)
Students whose absence hours
in the N.F.U. attain to 1/3 of the total lecture hours cannot take the
test of the course and the grade of the course will be evaluated as
“ZERO”.
(4.)
Students apply for
suspension are required to apply for one semester and one or two
academic year to the educational administration of the N.F.U. Students
whose terms of suspension in the N.F.U. expire to two years are required
to apply for one extended academic year.
(5.)
Students of resumption are
required to continue their academic studies from the prior unfinished
school work of the N.F.U. Students who suspend their study in
mid-semester are supposed to resume their school work from the beginning
of the academic year.
(6.)
Students behave as one of
the following actions are rusticated to withdraw from the N.F.U. :
1.
Absent duration of students
reaches to 1/3 of the total lecture time of study in one semester.
2.
Students transact the
withdrawing in accordance with the conference resolution of the Students
Affairs Association in the N.F.U.
(7.)
College students behave as
the following actions are required to withdraw from the N.F.U.:
1.
Students who enroll in the
school behind the time or transact withdrawing and resume the school
work behind time.
2.
Students who receive a
letter grade “F”.
3.
Students who get under 2/3
of the credit hours in a semester.
4.
International students,
aboriginal students, alien students with Chinese citizenship and
students whose parents are dispatched to work in Taiwan as well as
mainland China get under 2/3 credit hours in two consecutive semesters
of the N.F.U.
5.
Students extend the terms of
study and still cannot get competent credit hours.
6.
Students who do not
participate in the final exam within the semester of the N.F.U.
7.
Students violate school
principles and transact withdraw basing on the resolution of Students
Affairs Association.
8.
Students transact withdraw
from the N.F.U. voluntarily.
9.
Students of Master study
program extend the terms of study and still cannot obtain the Master
degree.
(8.)
After students withdraw is
permitted by the N.F.U. and transact the relevant formality completely,
students are required to fill the certificate of study which is issued
by the Study Affairs Association of the N.F.U. The certificate of study
will not be issued to the students who have either of the following
conditions:
1.
Students pursue the academic
studies under one semester and withdraw from the N.F.U.
2.
Students who are expelled
from the N.F.U.
5. Transfer:
According to
the article 44, 45 of school administration conference resolution in
Nov. 27th, 2007, students who would like to transfer to other
departments are required to comply with the following regulations.
1.
College students who would
like to transfer to other departments of the N.F.U. are required to have
the permit by the dean of the department, the dean of Studies and the
principal of the N.F.U. Students are required to take the transfer test
if necessary. Students of Master study program are prohibited to
transfer to other departments of the N.F.U.
2.
Frequency of transfer in
the N.F.U. is confined in one time and students are supposed to get
competent credit hours based on the regulations of the department after
the transfer complete. |
